A Missouri State Highway Patrol trooper was killed Thursday, September 22, when he was hit by a pickup truck during a traffic stop along U.S. 60 in Texas County.
Patrol spokesman Lt. Tim Hull said Donald K. Floyd, 45, was working with the patrol's aircraft and had pulled over a car at 12:21 p.m. He was struck by the passing truck as he turned to walk back to his patrol car.
Hull said charges are pending against the driver of the vehicle that struck Floyd.
