Hundreds Pack Funeral Of Conway Man Killed By Truck

Fred Savage, a civic leader, 71-year-old, died when his parked car was struck by a tractor-trailer on I-44.

Authorities said that Savage's car was parked by the side of the interstate when it was hit from behind by a tractor-trailer around noon Saturday.

Fred was killed at the scene.

His wife, Joyce Savage, 65, was critically wounded and was taken to intensive care at a Springfield hospital.

The driver of the rig was arrested on suspicion of driving while intoxicated.

Charges are pending.
